I am currently a core facilitator for Trauma & Somatics Practitioner Training and Embodying Somatics. I have taught mindful communication and embodied leadership at the University of Virginia for the past eight years. While at UVA I created and facilitated three courses: "Meditation Peer Leadership," "Mindful Facilitation & Leadership," and "Nature & Mindfulness." I also teach Qi Gong classes and lead workshops and retreats on mindfulness and emotional resilience for UVA students, faculty, and staff.
I am a certified Integral Facilitator™ who leads retreats and workshops about embodied leadership, death & initiation, nature connection, and conflict transformation around the country. The world does not need more self-help coaches. My deepest intention with what I offer is to support, nurture, and catalyze fuller engagement with purpose and life, stronger, more vibrant and resilient communities, and whole-hearted intimacy with the miraculous and imperiled planet we are a part of.
Where I Stand
In this time of climate crisis, social instability, and economic inequality, we need radical whole-systems change. We have a crisis of connection on every level, and it is clear that many of our systems and structures are not compatible with humans thriving or even surviving on this earth. In college, I studied climate change and global development and did research on vanishing old-growth forests, dying coral reefs, and the impacts of free-market neoliberalism on human communities. My studies and lived experience have made me passionate about supporting the social movements around the world advancing climate justice and enacting the kinds of community and systems change that we need the most in the world.
